Background

The Play Ground Academy is proud to introduce the first skills development program that offers film and television skills training as an extramural in high schools. The South African film and television industry is developing at fast rate providing over a million South Africans with jobs. Unlike other industries such as those in the corporate sector, young South Africans that want to be filmmakers don’t have access to formally develop those skills until they matriculate and go to tertiary. We are here to change that. Like art, dancing, music and many others. Film will now be available to teenage South Africans as an extramural in high schools.
